{Moody Monday} Retro Inspiration

So a while back we put together some Vintage Wedding Inspiration for you, this week I’ve decided to go retro. Now Retro to me is American Diner, Red’s, Blue’s, Prom dresses and gorgeous Red Lips! Of course this may not be everyone’s interpretation of Retro but this is the style that I am sharing with you today…

Retro Moodboard

I love the dresses and the colours, I love how vibrant everything is, it instantly makes me feel like this is going to be such a fun, fabulous atmosphere!

Now itching to recreate the look with a photo shoot of our own, I’m off to source some fabulous vendors to work with…

Things I ♥ – Outdoor Wedding Fun and Games

After the ceremony and before the Wedding Breakfast, what do you do?

Yes there is the obligatory Photography and maybe a cheeky alcoholic beverage if your lucky, but what do your guests do while you and your beloved look longingly into each others eyes for your photographer?

I’m a big fan of all Wedding entertainment and this week its fun filled outdoor games that have got me going…

Outdoor Wedding Games

With so many DIY options available and even more companies out there now able to do the hard work for you, you would be mad to not consider (time of year dependant) not utilising any outdoor space your venue might have!

So let the Games begin…

{Moody Monday} The Chair Covers

I’ve been lucky over the years to have worked in some wonderfully beautiful venues with equally lovely furniture, although I have worked with some venues who maybe don’t have quite so nice furniture and money then needs to be spent to ensure they are either decorated well or simply covered.

I would say that in the last 3 years of my Wedding Planning career I can count on 1 hand how many weddings I have been involved in, that have not used chair covers in their venue decoration and every time they have been used it has been the standard white cover with coloured sash.

I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with these, but I’m just putting it out there…. let’s get creative and go for something different…

Chair coverings

I love the use of Ribbons and Florals to help make simple chairs look effortlessly beautiful, most of these looks are simple and would involve minimal costs to help turn your venue into something fabulous for your wedding day.

So when you go to your Venue stylist or who ever is dressing the venue for you, why not ask if they can do something a little different, I’m sure they would relish in the opportunity to be creative and pull together something new and exciting for you!

If you have done something different for your wedding and the way in which you have dressed your venue I would love to see! Get in touch!

Bump, Baby Clothes & Boredom

Day 5 in the Maternity Stricken House….

As much I love the fact that I am now able to devote my full-time working hours to Faerie Wishes Weddings and Events and all the other crazy ideas and projects that come along with it, it has to be said, there is only so much time I can spend with my laptop in what used to be the office/spare room now soon to become Nursery/office.

I’m only actually 5 days in and I’m bored! I honestly don’t think my house has ever been cleaner, all the baby clothes have been washed including the bedding, the kitchen cupboards have been organised and even the fridge has been cleaned inside and out!

Having worked pretty much full-time since I left school, it’s been a surreal experience to have not set the alarm clock this week, and not to have somewhere to be everyday, with my naturally lazy personality I’m not going to lie, the temptation to stay in my PJ’s in front of the TV did get the better of me.

All this along with pregnancy hormones, tiredness and just a general feeling of ‘urghh’ it’s becoming all to easy to envision the next 6 weeks of my life being a spiralling circle of bad day time tv and naps! Is it wrong that I would quite like bump to arrive sooner rather than later just to save me from my maternity boredom?

So how do they do it? All those that work from home do they have a routine? How do they resist the temptation to turn into couch potatoes?

If anyone has any inspiration for me it would be most appreciated and I would love to hear from you!
